The Rabbit Page

English Angoras, Jersey Woolies & Lionhead Rabbits have wonderful personalities. They are the 'Golden Retrievers' of the Rabbit world.

The Jersey Woolies average 3 pounds as adults. They have moderate length fur on their body with normal fur around their head. They are  actually a 'fiber' breed. They are like having a miniature angora without the grooming requirements and with the gentle temperment.

The Lionhead bunnies average between 3 to 4 pounds as adults. They come in single and double maned. They have a 'mane' around their head like a lion, and if double maned also have what I call a 'bed ruffle' around their bellies and hind end.

The English Angora averages between 5 to 7 pounds and appear much larger than their actual body size due to their incredible fur. They do require regular grooming or you will have a matted and uncomfortable rabbit in a couple months. The English Angora is the smaller of the angora breeds and have fur on their face and ears as well.

Special Note:

Please note that any of my bunnies are welcomed back to the farm if they do not work out for you. Although I do not give you your money back, I will provide them with a safe and healthy home as opposed to you letting them go in the wild (they do not survive in the wild) or bringing them to the SPCA.

I also rescue bunnies that did not originate here that are in good health and find homes for them. I do ask a rehoming fee of $10 for these bunnies after I determine their appropriateness for living with a new family. Please call me if you have questions.

Rabbits make wonderful pets, sometimes owners are not able to commit to even the minimum care necessary to include their new pet into their life, hence my concern to make sure that bunnies are welcomed here to prevent possible neglect or worse.

English Angora Rabbit

This is a photo of Merlin. He is a sable and just beautiful. I plan on breeding my angoras next Spring. You can keep their fleece shorter. I love the longer fur but it does require routine combing to prevent wool block. You can sit them in your lap and spin yarn as you pull the wool gently from them. Because their fur/fleece does get quite long, they do require serious grooming (twice a week for 20+ minutes) and are not a good pet choice for children or adults that can not commit to proper care.

What a face!

This is Honey, and she is! What a sweet loving bunny she is. She goes to the Nursing Home regularly with me. She is more dog like than rabbit. She follows me, plays with the cat and jumps up on the couch to be petted.

Because her ears are lightly gray, she is considered a torte. Just a lovely personality. She was bred and delivered 7 kits on May 31st 2011,  babies are $65. (plus $10 for partial pedigree)

1 black, some fawn, some sable, some gray

Litter born 4-20-2010, 8 kits. Photos below of them. All Sold.

She came from Claudette and Steve in Linchfield, NH.

Same Litter of 4/20/2010

The baby in the hand is at 10 days old, the upper left and right and immediately to this left are 4 weeks old and the one just above on the left is at 8 weeks old.

This litter sold out.

Honey will be bred again in early April for a litter that will be born early May. Sold out again.....Check in with me if you are interested as Honey's kits sell quickly.

This is ELF, a Black Otter Netherland Dwarf.

He is quite small and has a great pedigree. He is 5 years old and is either looking for a mate or wanting to go to a home where he can get more attention.

$35

Farmsworth: 1 year old Lionhead: Rescue Bunny

Farmsworth was given up due to not getting along with another rabbit when they were allowed out of their cages.

He has been well cared for, socialized well with humans, loving, personality plus.

He is not neutered and no pedigree. He is approx 4 pounds, a powder shade of gray and easy to handle.

Rescue Bunnies looking for new home

Merlin is a 2 year old Dutch Bunny. He is about 3 1/2 pounds. His owner needed to move and could not take him with her. He is a wonderful personality, easy to handle and enjoys people

Angel is a 1 1/2 year old single maned grey lionhead doe. She is about 4 pounds.

Easy to handle, had belonged to a college student who kept him in her dorm for a year and then got 'caught'. So needed to find an immediate home.

Rescued Bunnies that were not mishandled or neglected, just needed to be rehomed.

Available to approved homes for $10.

This is Simba, a 2010 son of Honey and Merlin. He is a Lavendar point fawn color. He is beautiful with a loving personality.  He was a return due to his family was moving to Alabama and new husband didn't want Simba in the house.

Simba could be available to a very special home.

On the left, his baby picture, on the right what he looks like now (before his summer cut)

Angel, another rescue bunny.

Her family found it difficult to keep up with her care and tried to sell her on Craig's list. But, couldn't find an appropriate home, so they brought her to our farm.

She was fed lots of veggies, but needed more pellets, so was a bit underweight as you can see in this photo.

She will get a summer cut and is being fed Blue Seal's Show Hutch Deluxe pellets.

She is very sweet and is considered a chocolate point on her pedigree.

She is not eligable for rehoming at this time.
